About Us

Rudi Schmoll is the owner of Oakleaf Carpentry, Inc. Rudi has lived in Atlanta for the last 17 years. He started his journey as a craftsman at the age of 11 by helping his father and three older brothers renovate and remodel their 1915 craftsman-style home.

After studying architectural drafting/design and graduating from college, Rudi quickly realized that he wanted to work in the construction industry but not be tied down behind a desk as an architectural draftsman. Trading in his cubicle and computer for a toolbelt, Rudi started framing houses for a new-construction builder in North Carolina. He moved to Atlanta in the late 1990s and worked as a carpenter and then a project manager for an established design/build firm in Inman Park.

In 2005 Rudi started Oakleaf Carpentry, Inc. primarily as a high-end trim and carpentry subcontractor. Since then, Oakleaf Carpentry has grown into a full service general contracting company. Fully licensed and insured; from design to permitting to construction, Oakleaf Carpentry can help guide you through the entire construction process. Oakleaf specializes in screened porches, built-ins, and custom woodworking.
